A Massive Budget Cut Hits The New York Police Department

Months of non-stop protesting has pushed for changes to be made for the police force, mainly to defund the cops by $1 million. However, New York Lawmakers had a different budget cut on the police department in mind... Causing disappointment amongst the community.

Protesters demand change to occur along with city lawmakers after New York Lawmakers cut the police department by a total of $88.9 billion starting next year, according to CNN.

The NYPD currently includes above the amount of 55,000 members while their budget was nearly $6 million for their financial timeline as of this year. With that unnecessary plan on the table, City Council Speaker Corey Johnson had a response to the circumstance.

"To everyone who is disappointed that we did not go further I want to let you know - I am disappointed as well... But this budget process involves the mayor who was not budgeting ," Johnson said.

It's a disgrace that the police gets paid so much for putting little effort, and although their expected a major budget cut, a lot more can be done. If they can't or refuse to protect and serve, they should be fired, and arrested for their evil actions.
