Revenge on an enemy can sometimes drive a person past their limits, and that's exactly the case of Mike Lowrey (Will Smith) who's performance was extremely intense to a point where he makes you think of being in his position while watching Bad Boyz 4 Life.
With Smith's chilling performance followed by the amount of crazy shootouts and fists fights, the film definitely lived up to the expectations of how epic it was predicted to be overall. In addition, the storyline didn't disappoint as no remorse was also an inclusion of the movie to raise the steaks.
Another element of the film is energy. Martin Lawrence's comedy performance was energetic, and a funny fit when he delivered a talking-smack act, as vintage Marcus Burnett, which brought out a small balance of handling business, violently, and funny moments on his behalf.
However, Smith's energy was definitely felt throughout the entire movie. Smith's character-rage will have you reacting more than once by sitting back in amazed or sitting forward with the thought of "what just happened?!," along with, "Ooooohhhh Sssshhhhoottt, wooaahh!" You would feel like jumping out of your seat in surprise.
Lawrence and Smith built a dangerous good vs bad chemistry, especially Smith, with a vicious villain Isabel Aretas (Kate del Castillo), which lead the bad cops throughout insane yet risky wars with her team before their confrontation with the bad-boss lady. Castillo's dominate performance as a sick, and twisted villain made her character more evil than suggested.
Creator George Gallo had a major vision of topping the Bad Boyz film series with the previous Bad Boyz movies as the newly movie release was extremely packed with wild, and insane action, like explosive vehicle chasing. Furthermore, there were wicked storylines by Joe Carnahan, Peter Craig, and Chris Bremner, as it kept the audiences' attention until the very end of the movie, especially with intense music by Lorne Balfe which leveled with the intense, and action-pack scenes.
The crazy angle shots by Directors Adil El Arbi, and Bilall Fallah was definitely a boost in the film to ensure that the audiences' eye balls are wide opened as a result of the amount of impact the film contains. It tops the previous Bad Boyz series, entertaining-wise. However, Bad Boyz 4 Life has certainly raised the bar to higher levels past Bad Boyz 1, and 2.
Bad Boyz 4 Life is now playing in theaters. What's next though... Bad Boyz 4?!?!?! That would be awesome!!
