A complicated kidney surgery gave singer Selena Gomez quite a scare which she revealed in a recent interview of the issues that made her start to worry of the process with her surgery.

In addition, the 27 year old singer detailed, specifically, the mindset she was in while she was going through her operation when Gomez added, "Then the kidney thing happened, and that was the scariest, because, yeah, ou could actually die," Pop Crush reported. "The moment I came out [of the two hour surgery], I remember starting to shake and my mom screaming and then being put back under."

More concerns of her surgery continued to build as Gomez explained another frightful moment occurred when she "broke an artery." Francia Raisa, her best friend who was her kidney donor, explained to W Magazine of the experiences after their surgery when she explained tat the "Recovery was hard, I didn't want to eat, I didn't want to drink anything," Pop Crush also reported.

Raisa also witnessed Gomez's suffering from complications after her surgery. ""Selena did have a complication, too," she continued. "A few hours after our surgery, I woke up and had a text from her that said, ‘I’m really scared.’ My kidney was very active, and when it turned I broke an artery. They had to take her into emergency surgery and get a vein from her leg and build a new artery to keep my kidney in place. She could have died,” she explained.

Previously, the singer has made the announcement off her kidney surgery back in 2017 in September trough her Instagram. Prior to her announcement, Gomez publicly mentioned that se was diagnosed with Lupus, four years earlier.
