There hasn't been a power outage in New York since 2003, however, due to heavy rains that occurred last night in different parts of the city, people in both Queens and Brooklyn remains to live in the dark.
According to CBS New York, the severe weather hit the platforms of Prospect Park and Jay Street. It also showered throughout the majority of stations in like Sheepshead Bay and Kings Highway as small winds pushed rain drops to a majority of passengers waiting for either the Q or B trains.
In addition, the insane weather caused more work for Con Ed as the company already has responsibilities of handling previously power outages at Madison Square Garden.
"We have restored more than 99% of the 33K customers affected by yesterday's outage in southeast BK neighborhoods. Now we're working to restore about 11K outages from tonight's thunderstorms. More details shortly," the company tweeted.
The dreadful weather developed 11,000 new outages for Con Ed, CBS News also reported, as the company included that power for some residence in Brooklyn and Queens will not be reinstalled until this evening.
