The legacy of NBA Hall Of Famer Kobe Bryant continues to be honored, and this time the NBA continues the memory of Kobe Bryant's career with a Kobe Award presented to the MVP of the All-Stars... As announced by the league Thursday morning.
With four levels of the trophy, each level is a representation of Kobe's accomplishments. The first level includes 24 stars as the number indicates that Bryant wore it in the second half of his career, according to TMZ. Furthermore, the level of the award measures up to 7 inches tall which is tribute to the Black Mamba's All-Star Game MVP honor back in 2007.
Ten stars is dedicated in the second level of the award where it acknowledges the number wore when he was a ball player for team USA in the olympics. Additionally, that portion of the trophy is 9 inches high at the top where it's symbolic of Bryant's ASG MVP award he earned in 2009.
Five of the championships that the legend has won with the Los Angeles Lakers which is honored with five stars on the third level of the award, TMZ also reported.
The fourth level indicates "a single star represents Kobe's NBA MVP Award in the 2007-08 season," the league announced. The NBA further reveal that it's 2-inch height serves a purpose to both of his finals MVP awards.
Creator of the Kobe Award, Victor Solomon, expressed that his commitment to creating the trophy made him feel "tirelessly," which was appreciated by Vanessa Bryant who expressed her reaction via an IG post.
"I love everything this trophy represents," Mrs. Bryant expressed, "all of my husband’s hard work and dedication ~ Mamba Mentality 👑🐍💪🏽 Thank you @NBA & @victorsolomon."
The Kobe Trophy is set to be received by the All-Star Game's MVP on February, 20 in Cleveland.
