With positive actions on a continuous path, Nike is also making a change as the company plans to declare Junenineteenth a holiday, which is a date of when slavery ended.
According to the shade room, the holiday will be considered as a paid holiday.
CEO John Donahoe issued a message to his staff. "As many of you may know, next Friday, June 19, is Junenineteenth, a day commemorating the end of slavery in the U.S. starting this year, and going forward, Nike will recognize Junenineteenth as an annual paid holiday in the U.S.," he wrote in the message.
