Sanders Connects With Cardi B For 2020 Campaign

Updated: Jul 30, 2019

There's an interesting turn in the Race for President on behalf of Senator Bernie Sanders when the Vermont Independent candidate announced that he will team up with Bronx rapper Cardi B to put together a film that supports his 2020 presidential campaign and she approves of his decision.

Now, his reason to partner up with the Grammy Award artist is to capture attention from the young voters. When Cardi met with Sanders, they discussed important issues like plans to cancel student debt, climate change followed by increase of minimum wage, CNN reported.

"The future of America depends on young people," he explained to CNN. "They are voting in large numbers, but not large enough numbers."

Cardi 100% backs Sanders and wasn't afraid to share her thoughts of him publicly. "I been reading about Bernie Sanders and I'm really sad how we let him down in 2016," she mentioned in a recent tweet.

"This man been fighting for equal rights, HUMAN rights for such a long time," Cardi added. "Seeing this country become a better place been really his passion for a long time not a new front from a campaign."

Sander's had a response towards her thoughts of him when he reminisced his conversation with the rapper over the phone. "She is really smart. And she is deeply concerned about what's happening in this country," he said when Sanders made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel's show, CNN also reported.

"She want to make sure we improve life for working people in this country, and I'm delighted that she is a supporter."

Their collaborative film for his 2020 campaign took place at the TEN Nail Bar, which is considered as their first partnership film.
