Update: Texas Shooter Gets Massive Punishment

Updated: Aug 5, 2019

His insane crime at a Walmart store in El Paso Texas, which caused 20 deaths on Saturday, encouraged prosecutors in Texas to choose a punishment, like the death penalty, for Patrick Crusius which they thought was eligible for the shooting spree he planned. Furthermore, the 21 year old suspect will receive charges of his harsh crime.

According to CBS News, prosecutors decided to give Crusius "domestic terrorism" charges. In addition, U.S. Attorney John Bash stated that they plan to launch two investigations for criminal and a civil rights hate crime.

When they brought Crusius into custody, investigators had no problem with questioning him since he was cooperative as well as "forthcoming with information" to police, Bash also explained.

Cruise is well-aware of the area considering he's from Allen, Texas, located 10 hours away from El Paso via a car, according to The Associated Press.

A statement was made by the FBI where they revealed the meaning of Crusius's vicious crime, saying, "The attack in El Paso, Texas, underscores the continued threat posed by domestic violent extremists and perpetrators of hate crimes," they said.

"The FBI is supporting its state and local partners in Texas through investigative, intelligence, and technical assistance," the FBI also stated on their strategy to support their community, CBS News also reported. "The El Paso investigation is also being supported by the FBI's Domestic Terrorism-Hate Crimes Fusion Cell."

Police Chief, Greg Allen, confirmed that Crusius brought his weapon legally. His dangerous crime is just one of many recent violent crimes that occurred in another state like New York where the suspect murdered one person and injured 11 other people during a "Old Timer's" event in Brownsville Brooklyn.
