With a possibility of endinging the tough series for championship gold, LosAngeles Lakers' minds was set on dominating against Mismi Heat during Game 5 of their series last night in Orlando. However, the heat had motives of their own as they've managed to play hard throughout the first quarter.
Their efforts paid off as the heat were in the lead, heading into the second quarter as the score was 31-27. After a three-point shot made by Tyler Herro, Miami hustle continued with another shot delivered by Jimmy Butler to change the score, 38-30. Lakers were on a mission to regain the lead bt the Heat continued to dominate.
A series of shots were made by Heats' Butler as he scored a lay-up and was able to made another shot with only 1.1 seconds left on the clock of the second quarter. Heats' dominance allowed the team to head into the third quarter with the score of 63-56.
A quick decision was made by Butler when he passed the ball to his Heat teammate Duncan Robinson who delivered a three-point shot, making the score 66-62. Lakers played even more aggressive with key players like Lebron James, Alex Caruso and Anthony Davis scoring like crazy.
Lakers were competitive as the've dedicated their game to NBA Hall Of Famer and Legend Kobe Bryant. Their competitive strategy motivated them to catch up as the score was 66-65. In addition of Lakers' dedication to Bryant, they wore his jersey color of gold and black in honor of Bryant's legacy.
It was a tie game momentarily worth 70 points each before Heat managed to break it and regain the lead with the score of 76-70. Their competitive game extended into the fourth quarter where both teams delivered tough shots.
Although L.A. was playing hard to not only catch up in posts but also take the lead, Miami became tougher opponents considering the possibility that it would've been their last chance to remain in the series.
Lakers' mindset turned into a reality when they regained the lead with the score of 99-98. However, Robinson's three-point play quickly brought the lead back to his team as the scoreboard revealed 101-99.
Both teams were at a tie-game until a few free-throws were made by Heat allowed them to remain in the lead. It was a tough game but Heat pulled up victory with the final score of 111-108, with the series at 2-3.
Heat forced their series against Lakers to extend into gamer 6 scheduled for tomorrow night at 7:30pm/est. on the ABC Network.
