A competitive start in the game was based on both teams scoring when the Los Angeles Lakers played against the Dallas Mavericks last night ate the Staples Center. Even with an alley-oop delivered by Lebron James and Anthony Davis, the Mavericks managed to catch up with their opponents in points as the score was 18-15 in the first quarter.
Quickly, the Mavericks found an opportunity to deliver their own strategy when Luka Doncic and Dorian Finney Smith delivered an alley-oop of their own.
A close game was still in motion between Lakers and Mavericks but with a steal from Josh Richardson, momentum was on Mavericks side as he passed the ball to James Johnson who then scored a layup to make the score with a contact from Lakers, making the score 41-46 with Lakers still in the lead in the second quarter.
There was a drastic change in points within the third quarter as a result of Lakers dominate game plan as the score was 80-65. Although Mavericks were on the verge to put a stop on Lakers' competitive nature, with continuous shots, it pushed the Lakers to bring out their aggressive side and it was noticed in points and on the court as the score was 92-81 with Lakers still in the lead.
Lakers were in complete control of the game heading into the fourth quarter, and their dominate plays has put the Mavericks in a challenged situation where they had to play competitively to ensure that they wouldn't trail extremely behind.
Momentarily, the Mavericks did manage to catch up to Lakers on the scoreboard played hard to end a major gap on the scoreboard, yet, Lakers continued to dominate until the end of the game as the final score was 138-113 to ensure a victory.
